After having produced several successful, in-person Upfront events for FOX at the Beacon Theater, in 2021 the pandemic required us to innovate and evolve the traditional Upfront format. The challenge was how to create a 100% remotely viewed program -- solely on screens -- that was dynamic, and had scale, for FOX’s top executives to present their new broadcast line up to advertising clients and brands.
Our solution was to use the latest XR technology to put the executives and the talent into the world of FOX, which we created as an extended reality environment.
Once back in person for the 2022 FOX Upfront, we brought the spirit of the XR environment into the real world by creating a full 360° immersive theater for our guests. We recorded program content using Unreal technology, then mapped that footage into a live immersive space for the audience to experience in person. Combined with several live appearances it created a dynamic experience for the audience.
